How To Spend Your First Three Days in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is one of the most popular cities, with over 7 million tourists visiting each year. The city is renowned for its canals, gabled houses, Anne Frank House, and traditional Dutch culture. The first three days in Amsterdam can often feel like a lifetime. Sure, you may be in a new city, but you’re also going through something you’ve never done before: you’re jetting off to Europe, spending your first few days in a completely different country on the continent. You’re going to experience all sorts of new things, things you’ve never done before, and that’s normal. But, as I’m sure you’ve surmised, you’re going to want to do a lot of those new things: explore the city, go to the museums, have your fill of Dutch coffee.

Since everyone dreams of traveling to Amsterdam, let’s start with how to spend your first 3 days in Amsterdam. We will skip the topic of how to get there, as you probably already know. Instead, we will talk about the tips that will help you to enjoy your stay and that you should know before you start your trip.

• Visit the Gingerbread Houses

The Dutch capital is a city that loves to welcome visitors. It knows how to make the best of every experience and every moment. The moment you arrive, you are welcomed with freshly brewed coffee, people dressed in very colourful clothes, and a place filled with things you have never seen before. One of the most vibrant parts of Amsterdam is its canals. There are many canals in Amsterdam, and they are filled with boats used for different purposes. The boats can be rented for sightseeing tours, or they can be used for fishing. Some of the most popular canals are the grachten, the word for “canals” in Dutch.

• Explore the beauty of Dam Square

The Dam Square, or, as it is known to locals, “Dam Square,” is a great example of a city square that has been tastefully renovated and redeveloped in the last few years. The square is the heart of the city and is filled with a variety of monuments, museums, restaurants, and cafés. If you’re taking a city break this summer, there are a few must-see locales that are near and dear to my heart. The first is Dam Square. This is a national square in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. It is famous for being the seat of government and for being the site of many royal weddings. It is also a great place to get some fresh air and take in the city’s sights.

• Look for the Hidden Begijnhof Garden

The Begijnhof (meaning “beggar’s court”) is a small and secluded garden hidden behind a house in the centre of the city. There are only a few places in the city where you can go back in time without being disturbed by modern life. One of these places is the Begijnhof. On Sunday mornings, about a dozen people congregate in a flower-filled courtyard in the Begijnhof, a hidden garden located in the centre of Amsterdam. The courtyard is home to a labyrinth of garden beds and a black-and-white wooden chapel—and it’s a very popular spot with tourists. The Begijnhof is almost as old as the city itself, and after it was destroyed by fire in 1669, it was rebuilt within a few years.

• Go around the Munt Tower and the Flower Market.

The Dutch capital is an incredibly rewarding place to visit, despite its size. It is a wonderfully walkable city with a local vibe and a great selection of varied restaurants, shops, and bars. As a bonus, the area is famed for its many beautiful castles and the city’s flower market. This city is a must-see for those who want to truly experience Dutch life. With its world-renowned flower market, centuries-old canals, and lively streets, Amsterdam is a testament to the past and an epitome of the present. It is also a great place to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of this beautiful northern European country.

The Dutch capital is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations and a city that you really ought to visit at least once in your life. With its picturesque canals, quaint red-light district, and endless choices of museums and cafés, Amsterdam is a city that has something to offer everyone, so it’s a useful place to find inspiration for new travel adventures.
